My first idea was to use an accumulator mute of the first three steps then add to the accumulator and set its behaviour to max out and stay maxed - so in effect the muting only happens on the first play through. I use accumulators quite a lot for one-off or toggle-type functions where I want something to happen once or a few times then change, forever. Possibly not quite what you needed though...?
