I may have the wrong type of brain for this. My first idea was to use an
accumulator mute of the first three steps then add to the accumulator
and set its behaviour to max out and stay maxed - so in effect the
muting only happens on the first play through. I use accumulators quite
a lot for one-off or toggle-type functions where I want something to
happen once or a few times then change, forever.

Possibly not quite what you needed though...?
