while I was full of smoke last night, I worked out a way to make the
p3 play a solo... a lead line, anyway... while I dictated the progress
of a chord sequence using single notes played on a midi-bass.
why didn't I write it down? damn.
one important element was randomising the step-time & direction of the
lead line track, whilst transposing it from the live-input. another
track, playing a chord sequence, would also be transposed by this live
input. the live input itself is not heard, & is a single-step being
rerecorded over & over in a "control" track. all F'd to S, of course.

it'll probably work. nearly everything you would want to do is
possible somehow.
