> It does - use arpeggio capture, and turn RoNG off. What!! Goes and checks. Wow... this is fantastic. Missed that one completely. And you can have the P3 running while you enter the new sequence too. Marvellous machine this. Sorry Colin for getting that wrong. And I have now found the reference to it in the User Guide. Just two little lines on page 117 and this function is just so useful to me. Now I don't have to feel so bad about selling my SH-101. :-) Tony

I believe the design philosophy is: you can have the P3 running while you do *anything*. This is, of course, utterly cool. -- N. nick rothwell -- composition, systems, performance -- http:// www.cassiel.com

>>I believe the design philosophy is: you can have the P3 running while you do *anything*<< while I was full of smoke last night, I worked out a way to make the p3 play a solo... a lead line, anyway... while I dictated the progress of a chord sequence using single notes played on a midi-bass. why didn't I write it down? damn. one important element was randomising the step-time & direction of the lead line track, whilst transposing it from the live-input. another track, playing a chord sequence, would also be transposed by this live input. the live input itself is not heard, & is a single-step being rerecorded over & over in a "control" track. all F'd to S, of course. it'll probably work. nearly everything you would want to do is possible somehow. d.

Hello All, I'm the proud new owner of a P3. I'm really enjoying this machine. Getting some really crazy patterns going with my Virus B and one or two softsynths. I'm having some problems accessing the aux events groups. I get to the aux config page (pressing func and step mode button twice) but I can't view the groups by pressing the steps keys. I can set midi CC values no problems. I'm using 3.1.006b and am working from the 3.1.006 manual. Any pointers would be gratefully received - I'm sure I'm missing something obvious. Many thanks, James Kneen, UK.

It sounds like you could be running a beta version of 3.1.006 from before the addition of the new event group selection. In older builds, all events were accessed using the DATA knob, with the PAGE key toggling between events and CCs. The newer version is a lot quicker to use, so it might be worth a quick upgrade, if you have some way to play a MIDI file to your P3. Hi; And to include silences.. as the 101? I guess there is no silence key... so you have to enter dummy notes and then step them off? Hans
