The past two gigs, I've experienced a bit of "user error" on my part as I've outfitted my master controller (a JD-800) with its volume controller and hold pedal and added the JV-1080 as a module. Even though the controllers are a standard part of my JD-800 setup, I evidently have not had my P3 config setup as it is now, or managed to avoid these problems through dumb luck, or the OS updates have changed something, or the JV-1080 operates differently than the other modules. Anyway, help troubleshooting would be appreciated. Setup: Roland JD-800 w/volume controller and hold pedal MIDI OUT to P3 MIDI IN. P3 MIDI OUT to Roland JV-1080, Emu Morpheus, Novation Nova, Korg Electribe ER-1. What I'm trying to do is have the P3 pass-through MIDI info when in REC or EDIT mode only to the track selected (no matter what MIDI channel is outputting on JD-800) and not pass MIDI when REC or EDIT is off. What I'm experiencing that I don't remember from before is: 1) Without REC being on (either in READY or LIVE or EDIT), the JV-1080 receives note and controller info from the master keyboard. 2) MIDI Volume is being conveyed (can't tell if it's local or global yet), so that where ever I leave the volume pedal passes through to the P3, unintentionally reducing some tracks to zero volume and messing others up after I've set a balance with the mixer knob on the P3. So, I'm just trying to suss out the logic of the system so I can either use this configuration better or turn some things off (on the P3 or JD-800) to prevent the behavior. Any ideas? -Jim
