Hi Colin yet another quick reply ;) yeah it fits the pcb up on its side but you have confirmed what i guessed and that is that its a one off fuse that will need replacing if it ever blows...hopefully no need for that! My soldering is pretty neat etc so i should be fine. Funny that mouser pointed to this part when they had exactly the right part elsewhere on the site just under a differnt part number. Thanks again for the quick response. cheers Brett --- In analogue-sequencer@yahoogroups.com, "Colin Fraser" <colin@...> wrote: > > > > The one i got is described as a Axial Lead Non-Time Delay Fuses > > 125V .5A, Fast Acting Wire-in-Air > > Whereas the part spec'd is described as Radial Lead Resettable > > Fuses .5A 60V > > > > Fuses are i guess something i havent come across so far in DIY synth > > stuff so i'm not sure if this is a problem or not? i figured i > > should ask before i powere the P3 on for the first time. > > If the fuse you've got can fit in the board OK, it will be fine - unless it > blows, in which case you'll need to solder in a new one. > But if you have all the chips in the right way, and your soldering isn't > appallingly bad, the chances of blowing the fuse are tiny. > Personally I've never once blown the fuse on a P3. > I only seem to short out power supplies that put out serious voltage when > I've rigged them up without a fuse ;-) > > Best regards, > Colin Fraser > Sequentix Music Systems Ltd > http://www.sequentix.com >
