First thing to check would be the cable. For reasons of backward compatibility with 3 pin sockets, the pins in a 5 pin DIN scoket are numbered 1, 4, 2, 3, 5. DIN Sync uses pins 1, 2 and 3, which are the two outermost and the centre pin. Could be a source of confusion. There are also differences in the P3 sync output depending on which mainboard revision you have. The earlier units had a hard-wired choice of DIN or MIDI clock output. If you have a unit with hardwired MIDI clock output, you'll need a soldering iron to change it. Later units had both sync outputs simultaneously, as I had found there were very few problems with that. It is however possible to choose whether a late P3 outputs MIDI clock only, DIN sync only, or both. You change the setting by holding down step key 1 (both), 2 (MIDI only) or 3 (DIN only) at power on. Best regards, Colin Fraser Sequentix Music Systems Ltd http://www.sequentix.com
