I've planned to do a MIDI to trigger board for ages, but got finally round to it recently when someone I know needed one. I'll get some PCBs made if there is interest. The board is designed to be as generic as possible. There are 8 trigger outputs, though a 16 output version would be a simple addition. Each output generates a trigger voltage between 0 and 14 volts, with a pulse length programmable in increments of 0.1ms. Each output can be assigned a MIDI channel and note number to respond to, plus a minimum and maximum pulse voltage and length. The actual value of output voltage and pulse length will then be scaled between their minimum and maximum values based on the velocity value. MIDI CC messages will allow the config values to be adjusted on the fly, to allow the optimum settings for a given drum circuit to be found by experimentation. Sysex commands will then write permanent settings. Best regards, Colin Fraser Sequentix Music Systems Ltd http://www.sequentix.com
