Ableton Live does, of course, happily time-warping samples to match tempo. Last time I checked, Digital Performer would run as clock slave as well. When it comes to the P3, there's no obvious reason why it shouldn't run as a slave all the time, but I tend to use it as a master: I think I'm too used to live performance, and with having the comfortable RUN and STOP buttons, and I suspect I have a fundamental belief that a clock should be a physical box. -- N. nick rothwell -- composition, systems, performance -- http:// www.cassiel.com
