There should be no soldering required.

There is a small possibility that on some units, a capacitor on the
mainboard will need to be bent over to clear the memory board.
The reset capacitor next to the CPU is a 10uF part. I routinely used low
profile parts there, though in cases where I ran out of the smaller ones, a
larger type may have been used.
If it can't be bent over, it would need to be desoldered or cut out - it's
not actually needed as the CPU has a built-in reset timer.
