You can use either value or pot.
4k7 pots will draw a little more supply current, and in theory be less
susceptible to noise, but in practice I don't think it made any difference.

If you mean a firmware update, all P3s are firmware compatible.

I don't have any of the custom keyswitches left, sorry.

I don't, but the later board is not pin-compatible with the connector on the
earlier boards anyway.

I have a prototype panel, but it has pot holes sized for Spectrol pots.
If I can work out a way to make it suit Alpha pots without being all wiggly,
I'll offer it up for sale during the imminent clear out of stuff I need to
do.

I wouldn't worry about the LED spacers.
They make it easier to match the heights of the LEDs, but you can just do it
by hand - only solder one leg of each LED, then you can adjust the heights
once they are fitted to a panel.
