Thanks, thought so. I'm presuming because memory is short, temporarily
saving all these variations "on the fly" is not practical.

'caus I'm now config'd 12x8x4 I'm a bit short on patterns-per-track.

I have managed to get P3Tools running though, so I suppose a sysex dump
would be one way of resurrecting patterns if needed. 

Though that would not facilitate morphing back to the start pattern while
still playing.
