Thanks Colin

I found some info online about the negative voltage generator and read
through the spec sheets some more and realised all i had to do to
bypass the neg voltage generator was connect pins 15 & 16 from the P3
LCD connection to the A & K connectors that the lcd had on the side.
I just cut the two pins on the LCD adapter for pins 15& 16 so they
didnt connect to pins 15& 16 on the lcd and then ran some wires from
the pins on the LCD adapter to the A & K pads....worked great ;)
I'll post a pic of what i did in the group in case it might help some
others.
