I take both of your comments about the p3 not being a linear sequencer, however I do feel that the V4 software is missing a vital component in being able to playlist parts. (Please remember I am a novice and this is my first impression). I do take on board that its not a linear sequencer and is more of a performance tool...however no matter how experimental your work you end up having to apply some structure to make it more accessible. ... Hi Sean, I think the P3's remote control functions will probably give you a number of the things you're looking for. Until recently I had 2 P3's as my only sequencers, and when sequencing a track I used to record all the midi output of several performances of the track to Cubase, where I'd then cut out the junk and build the track out of the useful parts of the different performances. I've now sold 1 P3 and replaced it with an MPC 1000, which is much more focussed on song-style creation instead of live performance. As a result I now do all final sequencing in the MPC's song mode, from which I also switch parts & mute or unmute tracks on the P3 using remote control. Using this method allows me to continue creating in a live performance style while also giving me the ability to sequence in a song-based style. grtz, Chiel
