P3 feature question

2010-04-06 by Tony Scharf

I just got a P3 a couple weeks back, and really just started digging into
it. I love it thing, with the exception of how note entry is handled via
the pots. Because they are not stepped, it can some times be hard to hit
the note you want. I know you can real-time record to get around this, and
thats good for somethings, but my hands are getting a bit arthritic, and
those 16th notes are starting to become harder to hit..

Anyway, I was wondering if there were a way to single step notes in using a
keyboard? I particularly like how the Electron MonoMachine handled this
(you hold a step button, and press a note on the keyboard to set the value).
You also have 'traditional' step time entry where pressing a key records
the note and advances to the next step.

Does the P3 have anything like this? Will the Cirklon? It would make
programming things like bass lines and drum patterns a million times easier.

Tony
