If you then go to the PATTERN page, you will edit the pattern on that track (creating a new pattern if none is assigned). You can switch between the TRACK and PATTERN pages directly. There is automatic creation of pattern backups or copies depending on the context. For example, if you are editing the pattern on track 1, and want to edit the pattern on track 2, you press TRACK, <encoder 2>, PATTERN. There is no prompting to save/lose etc. Generally speaking, we're trying to have as little as possible get in the way of just getting some music done.
