I'd like to vote *against* having "1 or 2 pairs of CV/Gate outs & 2 CV ins" in addition to the breakout cable. I think the breakout cable is a good solution. I don't see any reason why people not using CV at all should have to pay extra for CV connectors they're not going to use, just because "moderate" CV users don't want to pay for a breakout cable. If you want CV, buy a breakout cable - is one really so expensive that it justifies putting extra CV jacks on every unit? Especially since the number of connectors considered "moderate" seems to be growing - once you have six connectors (2 pairs out and 1 pair in), can you really claim that you don't need a breakout cable? I don't actually agree that CV is the future. The future is likely to be OSC running much faster than MIDI, or something very similar. That's assuming there's even any hardware in the future, but that's another debate.
