Hi Paul,

Sure it is saturday afternoon and you're absolutely right. So I
attached the A6 directly to the P3 and things worked ok. :-))))

Colin:
Would it be possible to implement a sort of non-running record mode?
Where every keypress enters that note into the step and then advancing
one step?

Why are we always asking for more? :-)))

Oh and ARP mode is really cool!!!

It sounds like you are doing what you're supposed to, and it works
that way for me.
Have you gone into edit mode on pattern 4 as it plays, to check that
the position indicator advances across the pattern when it's
playing ?
If you've been playing with the arpeggiator, maybe you left the
pattern set at length 1, with step 1 skipped ?
You could always send me a sysex dump so I can check the behaviour
out here.

ARP mode does that if you have 'rong' set to off.
Just clr the pattern, then type in the notes. Press a note twice to
leave a space, then exit ARP mode and toggle off the steps you want
rests on.

Yep ;-)
But it might be a little bit broken since the length changing aux events
went in. I'm looking into that...

Playlist

Another question/problem.

Assume I have one pattern programmed.

entering playlist then, setting length to 3, creating three steps in
the playlist, where step 1 plays pattern 1 once, step 2 plays pattern 1
once but transposed by +3 and step three plays pattern 1 twice, but
transposed -2.
Then leave playlist by saving it gives a nice result. It plays pattern
1, once on the original tuning, once transposed by 3 semitones and then
twice transposed 2 semitones. So far so good.

No I do want to have step 3 using a *different* pattern, for instance,
I programmed pattern 4 with different notes already transposed.

Am I right assuming that entering the playlist again, changing pattern
1 in step 3 to pattern 4 and also set tranpose for that step to 0
again, then saving the playlist again, should play
pattern 1 not transposed
pattern 1 +3 transposed
pattern 4 twice not transposed?

Well, it does not.

It plays pattern 1 once, then pattern 1 +3 transposed once and then
there is silence for two bars.

I *see* the playlist jump to P:4 R:2 T:0, the led on step 4 turns red,
but no sound.

Yes, there ARE notes in pattern 4 and yes, midichannel is set to 1 as
is pattern1.

I am sure *I* miss something here... But WHAT?
