A beginner's perspective

A beginner's perspective

2004-07-16 by Jesper

Hi,

I just got my P3 a week ago and have been using the days trying to get my
head around how it works.
I have uploaded a picture to the group showing what I found.
Experienced users will already know this, other new users might find it
helpful.

You can find the picture in the files section (layout.png).
Or you can use the obvious link:

I am having lots of fun using the P3 - what a marvellous instrument.

Jesper.

nice little document...

i've also done some work to understand things in P3-land, prior to getting
mine up, running, and cased...

just a little bit of term translation (P3 terms on left):

pattern = "clip"
playlist = "cliplist"
part = "sequence"
track = "track"
bank = "bank"

might be vaguely useful for some folks... i find it helps me keep things
straight when trying to memorize the manual. :)

bleep.
out.

In my mind, I use these:

pattern = 'sequence'
playlist = 'sequence list'
track = 'sequence list MIDI output'
part = 'track selections, sequence list definitions and global
parameters'
bank = 'song'

Not so snappy though... 8-)
