Boot into the firmware update mode by holding FUNC+PAGE at power on, then
press F3 for 'flash'.
Then transmit the .syx file, with at least 100ms gap between each block -
this should be configurable in your sysex utility. If not, you may need a
better utility.
If you've never upgraded before, I'd strongly recommend a sysex backup of
your pattern data first, and restore afterwards.

If you get stuck, could you get a loan of a PC with MidiOX ? It works very
well.

Guys,

How do I upgrade my P3 with the new firmware?

Of course I have read this in the manual. But after I downloaded the
syx-file, I couldn't load it into my sequencer. Do I need a special utility?
BTW, I'm on Mac OSX.

Anyone?

You'll probably get a couple of answers, but the easiest thing to do will 
be to download a SysEx librarian app.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
