<< Just to confirm, you guys are talking about Cubase v3 on Windows, right?
Anyone have any thoughts on Cubase VST v5?
I love Cubase... and I'm just about to go back to it on Mac after too long
of an absence. >>

my other half (who's not, sadly, one of the cat women of the moon, but a
japanese singer/songwriter/bassist, & the owner of a 1969 fender precision with
the narrow-neck option, the bitch!)
ahem
she runs cubase vst v5 or somesuch bloody computer nonsense, despite my
objections & insisting that it's pointless & cumbersome for a songwriter.... on a
g4 powerbook running os9.x.

she also runs ableton in the background, with half-a-million drumloops in it,
via this fiendish magic called rewire.
it is absolutely rock-solid.
I have clocked the delays in my emu planet earth module from this rig (it
interfaces with reality through one of them tascam mixers with usb & midi) & as
any emu user will testify, if there's anything amiss with a clock, the emu
delay will glitch.
same deal with her triton keyboard- absolutely solid.
I would eat my mellotron with some gravy if this misbehaviour didn't turn out
to be gatesian in origin.
