MidiBass 303 installation details now online

Installation instructions for MidiBass 303, my TB303 midi retro-fit, are now
online.
Main page is here:

Installation details start here:

This board adds midi in to control your 303 synth section via midi, but more
importantly, midi OUT to let you drive other midi synths from your 303
sequencer, or to capture your favourite 303 patterns into an external
sequencer for editing or backup.
It also provides midi clock input and output, to use your 303 as tempo
master or slave, and sysex configuration of midi channels, local on/off
(also controllable by CC), note offset, sync behaviour and normal/accent
transmit velocity levels and receive threshold.

Cheers,

Hi Colin,

Some time ago, i saw a 303 midi kit that used the existing DIN Sync socket as the midi port.

I don't know how it worked, but i remember that it professed that the DIN would still work, (obviously not at the same time as the
midi) and that absolutely no drilling of the case was required for anything.

As i say it was a while ago, but i am presuming that you've seen that?

(who isn't massively keen on drilling his 303 case...)

You can re-use two of the pins on the DIN socket so it can double as
midi in, but there aren't enough pins to provide midi out there too.

You don't have to drill holes if you really dont want to - the midi
wires could be routed out through either the battery door, or by
removing the 'mix in' socket.

Id have to read up on din socket configurations if i wanted to answer this myself, but what about replacing the existing DIN socket
with one the same shape, but with a higher pin count, and then, if necessary, using a custom Y cable?
