P3 Production update

Folks, After a slight delay (caused by my having to get to grips with a rather large quantity of infant poo), I have now visited the factory to finalise the details of the production P3 cases, and instructed them to proceed with the production run. These should be ready in 3 or 4 weeks, so ready-built P3s will start shipping around then. I'll be in touch with those of you on the waiting list about payment before then, never fear. There were a few changes needed from the sample case that have all been addressed, and I'm happy now it will be exactly as I'd like. After a lengthy discussion, I've decided to go for a metallic silver paint finish on the front panel. The main deciding factor was the requirement for them to send the panels out for anodising, which would have had an unknown lead time, potentially of a couple of months. There were other issues related to production that could have made an anodised panel altogether less durable, and cosmetically not as good. PCBs will ship before cases for kit customers, but they are still a couple of weeks away. I'll keep you posted. Cheers, Colin f
