Guys, I was able to order all the parts for P3 from Mouser  

EXCEPT!

multimec switches (thanks Colin)

the few assorted ICs mentioned earlier (available from Digi-Key or Jameco)

PLed display (crystalfontz.com)

I got a 40 pin 3M header from Mouser and will snip it to length. no big deal.

the PC moount knurled shaft pots from Mouser are actually 17mm variation, not 16mm..

they have softouch knobs to fit these pots, but only in White, grey and blue.

Funny you should mention that... a couple of people have suggested, and I
think I might agree, that 4 white, 4 grey, 4 white, and 4 grey step knobs
would be easier to see on a dark stage than the current production choice of
4 red, 4 blue, 4 yellow, 4 green.
So I might switch over to this colour scheme myself.
