But part 1 will be initialised too...
Do you mean part 1 from another bank ?
I guess the bank init function could include an 'initial FTS' select, for
the lazy.

Or because you never had a pattern set to chg=p, in a > 1 step playlist,
with the last step skipped ?
It was a pretty obscure bug, made even more obscure by the fact that the C
source was correct, and the compiler was screwing it up.
Changing the order of 2 lines that should work in either order made it work.
That's the sort of thing that makes programming an adventure ;-)

Really don't matter to me - I tend to just work each time from part 1
using part copy to gradually morph my song as it plays....
