Just got mine this week! Question concerning sync...

2005-08-06 by djparislee

After lusting after one of these things for months...I finally procured one from Analog
Haven!

I'm of course loving it...just having one small issue with the P3 syncing to incoming midi
clock from Logic 7...

sometimes the P3 seems to lag off the clock...when it does i stop the sequencer and reset
the loop...but the P3 keeps playing from whatever step it stops at...

i have to open the session again to get it to reset...

I assume there's a simple fix...help anyone...

Are you sure the P3 is indeed get the MIDI clock signal from
Logic? When the P3 is running, will tweaking the Tempo knob
do anything? On mine here the Tempo knob is disabled when
it receives MIDI clock.

Sounds like Logic is sending a continue when it should be sending a start.
There is a 'user conf' option in P3 to 'Start on cont'.
Turn that on, and it should start from the right place.

As regards losing sync, I'm not really sure what could be the problem there.
Any other Logic users seen this ?

I've solved all my Logic (and other software) "sync" problems simply
by
not switching my computer on.

This probably won't help you in the short term but maybe worth
thinking
about in the long run!

Less computers = more music!

Facetiously yours,
Phil.

PC or Mac? who cares?, bin the lot of them! ;-)
