I'm still a "P3 Wannabee" (tm), so maybe this already exists...

Can the *Direction* be a modifier destination? On my Sequential Switch
I feed the output of a Binary Zone module to the Direction CV jack and
get it to do things like:
go forward 5 steps, go back 2, go forward 5 steps, go back 2
or
go forward 3 steps, go back 7, go forward 3 steps, go back 7, etc
or much more complicated versions.

Here's a pic for you gearfreaks:

Just a thought, I was wondering if any more
Sequencer direction modes can be added to the
P3, maybe not as the possibilities may be exhausted
already.

How about some strange sequencer directions, ie:

1-4; 1-8; 4-12; 8-16 (cascading sequences) either direction.

1-8 and 16-9 running towards each other at the same time
meeting in the middle and running back out again.

You'll probably say i'm mad for thinking such ideas. ;)

Cheers

Set Direction is an Aux Event so you can use it like all of them - you
can accumulate the values thus changing direction, you can set multiple
direction events and conditionally mask them. You can also alter the
timebase, even change the tempo with aux events etc. You *can't* do
things like advance x steps with aux events; however you can do so many
things to modify patterns as they play that direction starts to seem a
very piddly part of a pattern in the grand scale of things.

That said, I wouldn't mind a "reverse brownian" direction and perhaps an
aux event to vary the randomness of the random direction... :)

But sometimes I just want things because....
