Different Skies P3 Master Class

Different Skies P3 Master Class

2005-09-05 by jimcombsus

Yes, my P3 will be in visible evidence at Different Skies this year
(7 days away!).

I've posted pictures of my rig at:

http://www.touchxtone.com/ds2005_prep.html

The little rack I built for the P3 fits into a Pelican 1620 case along
with the Nova. The rest of the gear along with my clothes, cables,
and CDs will go into another larger Pelican case. The stand
(minus the shelves) will tear down and go into a soft speaker
stand case.

I think Doug Wellington is bringing his P3 too, so John, if you
brought yours, we could work up the electronic equivilent of
Dueling Banjos.

I'm most interested in learning more about aux events,
accumulators, masking and unmasking, and knob
assignments.

Paul, do you think I need to upgrade to the Beta or can I stay at
3.1.005?

Oh, my heart be still!

Sounds like a plan.

I remembered Jeff Kunzelman has a P3 now too. I can see a P3 showcase
piece in the making! 4 P3s sync'd together, what an awesome idea.

Sweet - should keep us going for a day or so.

For me the beta has some useful features - can't recall if the updated
playlist feature of quick pattern selection is in version 3.1.005 - and
that's really handy. The other new stuff is mainly for remote control.
Why not give it a few days and if nobody discovers any problems with the
beta, go for it. I used it on two P3s this weekend and have just one
possible issue that is specifically related to twin P3 setups and may
even be user error. Colin's betas are usually better than most other
programmers' production releases.

If you guys pull this off, you just HAVE to record it and post the
results

Here's hoping!
