Aux event request

Aux event request

2005-11-21 by Tommy

Hi Colin,

How about a mask event for the transpose defeat(Xd). Very handy for
those of us who use the playlist feature. Also thanks for adding the
control over the play mode knobs through quick mute access.

P.S. I notice Richie Hawtin is playing at the arches this weekend, are
you going? I'm trying to get tickets myself at the moment.

Never been asked for that before... Easy enough to do though.
Masking of skip isn't possible, since the skip function is handled when the
next step is chosen, and the step has already become 'current' when the
auxes are handled.

Hmm, heard about that a while ago, but forgot about it.
I'll need to see if I'm allowed out...

Hi Colin,

i just remembered another thing that would be quite nice. A knob
event that would allow control over shifting the pattern left to
right. There could be 2 versions just like there is two ways to
shift the pattern from the edit menu i.e. holding down func while
shifting only shifts the pattern within the range to the last step.
Assigning different steps in the pattern to differnt knobs could
make for some real pattern mangling. Sounds like fun.

Tommy.

This has been discussed before, though I'm not sure if it was on the list.
'Pattern shifting' events would need the addition of a temporary pattern
position offset for each track.
As a rule aux events have to be non-destructive, and applying the shift to a
stored pattern on each step would be quite CPU intensive.
They're still on the possible-TBI list.
