I had read previously that the P3 has a specific OS from drum use. Could someone lay out the difference b/t that operation mode and the normal P3 OS? Thanks. -Paris

> I had read previously that the P3 has a specific OS from drum use. I have the beginnings of an OS build for drum-specific use, but I haven't found the time to work it into a releasable form. It's still on my personal wish-list. Best regards, Colin Fraser Sequentix Music Systems Ltd http://www.sequentix.com

did I hear just my vermona drm1 whimper with excitement....? what I would personally like is to be able to dedicate just one track for drum use, with limited polyphony (I never need to hear more than four drum sounds on the same step) maybe using the auxes in a different way... could that ever be possible? Of course it is possible at the moment but rather ungainly... If it was a whole new OS I guess that would give me an excuse to save up for a second P3.... a sixteen track P3 with 8 synth channels and 8 drum tracks would also make a lot of sense to me.... If you could find the time Colin that would be splendid! Maybe by the end of the year? I for one would definitely appreciate it -Paris Lee --- In analogue-sequencer@yahoogroups.com, "Colin f" <colin@...> wrote:

That sounds cool as i just got me another P3 dedicated for my 9090 :) this let me almost forget the disaster with the Maplin-Keytops for their switches....I still found no substitute. So i´m still searching for those, any help still highly welcome cheers o3 --- In analogue-sequencer@yahoogroups.com, "Colin f" <colin@...> wrote: > > > > I had read previously that the P3 has a specific OS from drum use. > > I have the beginnings of an OS build for drum-specific use, but I haven't

hi Colin, I know you might be very busy with the last run and/or planning what the next sequencer will be, but are there any news of a Drum OS for the P3 ? cheers, Olivier --- In analogue-sequencer@yahoogroups.com, "Colin f" <colin@...> wrote:

The drum OS is still a possibility, mainly for trying out ideas how the percussion side of codename-P4 might behave. I'd like to see if I can fit an alternative percussion pattern type into the current OS first, but that's going to take some inspired code size reduction... Since the OS is so easy to reload, it would serve 2 purposes - give you plenty of code space to try out drum ideas and allow any adventurous users the opportunity to beta the drum code from you (and those with more than one P3 could have one dedicated to drums).
