New Beta

New Beta

2006-12-16 by sequentix

Folks,

v3.1.007 beta 9 is in Yahoo files now.
This version icludes:
 - changes to MIDI clock handling
 - a new direction mode called "eitherway" with a 50% chance of
moving to the next step, 50% to the previous
 - sculpt for length now includes 13
 - a new user config option, "Gate edit mode 2", enables an
alternative pattern edit mode

The new edit mode only allows you to activate one GATE at a time.
But if you hold down a key as you are enabling GATE on that step
then press a higher step, the note on the first step will be copied
to all steps between the two selected, and tie will be set on all
but the last step.
This allows simple 'longer note' entry as discussed recently.
Note that all other step key edits behave as before - only GATE edit
mode is changed.

hm... The new direction-mode sounds interesting; a variation on the
brownian-random mode?

Yep - just the same bit of code, cut and pasted, with some different
numbers.
Might even add a couple more - there is space for 16 directions, and only 7
used so far.

Had a mellow afternoon. Noodled up some nice new sequences today and
these are they. Sorry if a bit long and indulgent. You know how it is....

One P3 plays a Radias and Freebass, the other P3 plays a Proteus 2500
and a Virus. Accompanied by electribe and stoner.

Is this going to be updated in the manual as well?

Manual updates follow release versions.
If you need any more detail on any of the beta features, just ask here, or
search the message archive and see if it has been asked before.

I'm going to get my dual P3 setup happening over the holidays. See
what mayhem I can get into;^)
