faders instead of knobs

faders instead of knobs

2007-01-15 by eas

i would like to use a peavey pc 1600 or bitstream 3x to adjust the notes
on p3.
is it possible to do this simply with a midi connection, and what
settings should i use on p3 ?

regards
andreas

There is no remote editing of notes at the moment.
Remote CCs to over-ride the internal knobs will probably be added, depending
on the code size.
Since all the values for the knobs positions are just held in an array, with
a 'changed' status flag for each, it shouldn't be too hard.
This would mean you could edit the note and upper values using a remote
controller while in pattern edit mode.
Remote control CCs for the 'play mode' knob positions are also likely to go
in. It just depends on how many CCs are free - CCs for all knobs in pattern
edit and play mode would use up 64 of the 127 available controls.
Plus I want to add CCs to force accumulators to any value, which will be
another 24 CCs, or 48 if I give you access to the accumulator limits too.
NRPNs are looking like they might be required...

im glad to hear its not impossible :)
meanwhile i try recording the faders.
would sculpting be a possible entry point for the faders ?
it would be great to be able to sculpt the notes with the movement of
one fader
during playback (with fts)

RE: [analogue-sequencer] Transposition Question

If you hit func+track, the note knob above part 1 (whose light should now be
flashing) will transpose that track only. Func again will give you the
option to save the transposition or lose it.Graham

Subject: [analogue-sequencer] Transposition Question

Hello,
This is probably a simple question but I haven't been able to figure out how
to transpose just one track in a part. I can transpose all the tracks in a
part remotely using a keyboard or from the unit itself using the PXPos, but
is there a way to either remotely or from the unit transpose individual
tracks without transposing the entire part?
Thanks

The basic answer is:
Go to playlist edit and there you can transpose each
pattern for every track up/down three octaves using
the lower (note) knob on playlist step 1-8.

However, there are some less obvious ones too,
including transpose by event for aux assignments,
including post-playlist transpose "xpose by track
n+p".

Also set-step value events include "xpose by n" and
with accumulators there's more hidden joys...
There's simply LOADS of ways to transpose from single
notes, to patterns, to playlists, to parts...

FULLY read the manual (as i didn't at first...) and
even though you won't be doing everything to start
with, you will soon realise just how much your P3 can
do for you.

Have fun,
Kev.
