Oops...
I'm aware of a similar problem with paste.
The reason is that I've started using spare space in the length values to
store the direction. I forgot to fix the shift and paste functions so that
they only act on the lower nybble of the length values - you'll probably
find that if you shift what was the first note back to step one, the
direction will return to what it was.
I'll fix it tonight.

i think the FTS setting could be in on this 'bug' as well; i was 
trying to trigger a sample set to G, in a pattern in a part with FTS 
set to none. the pattern i was editting was 'saved to' from a pattern 
in a part in which the FTS was set to arabian scale, in which G is 
not played. the sample played fine when triggered from the attatched 
keyboard, but not when played from the P3. the note was programmed on 
step 3 of the pattern, which was the initially the first step, 
shifted right twice.
it triggered fine off step 2 though...and strangely enough, it also 
played on step 3 if step 2 was also set to the same note..
sounds like it's part of the same fault?
