Look at this picture...

You'll find a space for R19 just below the trimmer VR1, in the top right
corner of the board, next to the LCD connector.

colin- just a quick note to say ta for the speedy delivery of my two
LCD boards. not a moment too soon, as the studio p3's display has
properly expired now, which meant yesterday was a bit dull....

a couple of observations, now it's been in a few days.

the p3's brains got scrambled somewhere along the way- I had the same
patterns there, but with miscellaneous defects, like "tbase = ????".

it's entirely possible that the memory got a little static jolt, as
after thirty odd years (some of them very odd) of engineering, I can
be a little cavalier sometimes. so.... back up y'r p3 before doing
this swap-out.

also, the PLED-saver screen timeout, which didn't save my PLED... it's
still active but does something rather odd & frankly a bit disturbing-
it shuts off the characters in the LCD but not the backlight, so that
one gets the impression of maladjusted contrast.

if one were to fit the LCD & then go for a cup of tea, the better to
admire it, one might subsequently spend a while working the contrast
trimmer back & forth with no obvious effect... the hot-spot on this
adjustment is quite narrow anyway.

is the screensaver still necessary with the LCD?

No. I'm going to add a user config option for the screensaver to the next
build.
