is there a way to copy a whole track/pattern from one bank into
another bank (V4)?

Not inside P3. You can copy a bar of a pattern in edit mode, and paste it
into a new pattern after changing bank, but there isn't an easy way to save
a multi-bar pattern to a different bank due to the way the data structures
work.
You can do it easily with P3 Tools 2.
