copy pattern in v3/v4

copy pattern in v3/v4

I'm right, I think, that when you copy a pattern in V3, your copied 
pattern is really just a pointer to the same data in memory? And more 
importantly, if you edit the original pattern the copied pattern is 
also changes?
Ok, so if this is correct, my question is, does the v4 firmware work 
the same? Thanks!

yes, jack, but there's a further option somewhere in v4 that gently
reminds one of the "ghost" status of the copied pattern, & provides an
option to create a new "real" pattern in it's place if the source
pattern is subsequently edited. I wish I could elaborate, but the p3 I
have here has a dead PLED & the one that still works is miles away in
stockport....

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
