pattern edit and part chain

Hi, can someone clarify what happens when you jump into pattern edit on a
part chain?

I'm presuming it jumps into the pattern of the part that happens to be
active at the time you hit play/edit&tracknum?

I tried some experiments and couldn't quite grasp what was happening. But it
was funky. :)

Cheers.

That's what it should do.
When the part advances, you'll still be editing the same pattern, but it may
not be playing on that track any longer.
