Re: [analogue_systems] Re: Setting up my system

Hello again,

the video is an introduction to the basics which I found very
useful. I don't think there are clips about.

I was in the same boat having bought an Integrator system second hand
and not knowing where to start. As far as advanced stuff goes, its
more a case of getting stuck in and seeing what happens. I loose
hours doing this. There are a few bits of info on the web showing
patches, but the video tought me all the basics.

I think it would be a good idea for the group to send each other
patch ideas, so let me start the ball rolling:

I make drum and Bass.
I send a sub tone to a Vintage Rat distortion pedal so it sounds
warm, but not heavily distorted.
This goes to the AS filter then out to two VCAs in series.

The midi trigger from the sequencer is also sent to a MIDI to CV
converter to act as a gate signal.
This is sent to an envelope generator which sends to the filter
cutoff. Play about...
And to another envelope gen which shapes both (or one) VCA. I like a
zero attack withy quick decay to a 70%-80% sustain.

Saturate the VCAs and experiment with Lin and Exp response. Try
setting the 1st VCA to fully open (the ENV will then add to the level).

This gives me a heavy, rounded Dub note that can really cut through
mixes.

Hope any of the above helps. Next time I'll tell you how to turn a
break beat into an Acid bassline...

Good luck :-)

Alex
