Analogue systems

Hi list, I'm peeping here for while and this is my first posting. 
Just have bought a RS290 VC Delay/Sampler for my Doepfer rack. Since 
this device needs +5 volt extra I wonder wether I can use the 
Doepfer 5V low cost adapter which draws the extra 5V from the 12 V 
on the bus board? Any comments, thanks Ilanode
