Hi,

You should make sure you have enough free current from your power 
supply before you plug the RS290 in.  When I first received my RS290, 
I slapped it in a Doefer rack.  I was very disappointed.  The RS290 
drew so much current that my powersupply was taxed, thus, creating 
instability.  My oscillators sounded horrible and the RS290  
malfunctioned.  I have since added a larger power supply and 
everything works beautifully.
