That's it! Two other important points: 1) The RS15 uses keyed connectors on its backplane - it will not allow you to plug it in backwards (on that end) because it utilizes the polarizing key inherent in that inline header design. 2) While it may not be the case with all of their modules, in the Analogue Solutions modules I own and others I have seen, his power connector on the module end utilized a 12 pin inline connector but the cable terminates with a 14 pin header on the end designed to connect to the module (the other of course is a 16 pin, configured in the same way as Dopefer). This is a somewhat confusing arrangement in which you must intentionally let one row of sockets of the cable hang over the end of the connector. Although A. Sol modules are marked with the word 'stripe' to indicate where the red bad goes, one can easily mess it up by hanging the wrong two pins off the edge (he can't use the polarizing connectors obviously because of the 12/14 pin issue. hope this helps... - P Bakis Sirros wrote: > hello, > if i remember well, doepfer rack case have their > connectors installed is such a way so as the red > stripe of the ribbon cables to be downwards. > in the Analogue Solutions cabinets, the doepfer > connectors in their modules are in such a way > installed so as the red stripe to face upwards. btw, > the red stripe for doepfer and analogue SOLUTIONS > means pin1 and -12volts. > in the analogue SYSTEMS rack cases, their analogue > systems connectors have their connectors in such a way > so as their red stripe to mean 0volts. > dieter, bob, if i am wrong correct me, ok? > best regards, > bakis. > > > > > > --- boward_k <bovar.kalim@eudoramail.com> wrote: > >> >> Speaking of pwer ribbon cables... >> just connected a analogue systems module to my >> analogue systems >> RS10..which had the colored end facing >> downwords..But when connecting >> doepfer modules to the RS10 (whoes bus connectors I >> asume are just >> above the AS's..and by the way also apears to have 8 >> bus connectors >> instead of the told 7) the doepfers colored end >> faces upwords(arent >> they supose to face down to??)..i dont dare to power >> up!!! >> >> /boward >> >> >> >> > > > Bakis Siros > Parallel Worlds / Polariton > Athens-Greece > [Doepfer_a100] group owner > http://www.shimarecords.co.uk > http://www.ward12.com > > > > __________________________________ > Yahoo!
