Re: [analogue_systems] Korg MS-20 and Modular Synths

2005-06-18 by don hassler

Welcome on Malcom, thanks for joining.
The biggest issue in my opinion is the Korg's
hz/votage scaling, which makes interfacing with more
conventional systems a pain. In fact, Korg sold a
scaler to allow for interfacing when they made the MS.
I would submit an AS system you are describing, with a
suitable controller could well supercede your MS 20's
function(save for the external signal processor or the
filter's idiosycrancies.)
Not to slag your MS, it is a very nice instrument, but
the AS could easily grow to your personal tastes and
needs. Normally, I find mixing systems to be most
effective. Peter Grenedar sells a wonderful VCO called
a plan 9, Wiard has some amazing modules as does
Blacet. A mixture of Doepfer/AS, plus the other
mention would be my recommendation.
Good luck!
