RS60 Attack Envelope Issue and Thumping Problem

2005-09-06 by Dan Levey

Hi all,

I just bought an RS-15 case and filled it with enough modules for a 2
Osc basic system. I am using the EMS Filter and have the Trapezoid
as well. So far I am loving it but there's a always a thump and click
when I trigger on and off through the filter. I tested the oscs
directly bypassing the filter and they are clean but when the filter
is feeding the VCA and the Envelope is controlling the VCA, I get a
hard low thump even if the Filter is on it's own with no input. I
can only get rid of it by opening the Attack and Release a bit but
that is not desired. Is it the filter itself generating a loud
waveform?

Another isssue is with the Attack of the RS60 alone. This seems to
be more of a delay than an attack. The sound does not ramp up
slowly, it just delays more and then ramps up quickly. This is not
the response attacks normaly give. Is this how it was designed? Is
there another Env that I could use instead?

I am adding a few more modules tomorrow such as the Multimode filter
so I'll test that with my configuration.

Thanks,
Dan
