You don't have to take anyone's word on it. Get a 10-EUR multimeter from the hardware store. Switch to VDC. Connect the black test lead to ground (chassis, the sleeve of a jack...). With the red test lead, check the voltages on the ribbon cable. Now follow the traces on the Doepfer modules.
