Analogue systems

Hi Arnauld,

You have a very good set of modules. Two VCAs and two ADSRs are great 
for making many types of sound.

I find that the filters each have a character of their own - and I 
choose the filter(S) for the type of sound that I want to make.

The Moog type filter is "Gutsy" and very cutting with its 24dB slope. 

While the multimode filter is more versatile, it is also more gentle 
and precise. A 12dB slope is not going to scream at you and produce 
wild lead sounds but this filter is the "Perfect Gentleman of the 
range". I used three of them to produce my vocal chorus sound on 
"Phoenix" and they did the job very well indeed!

The Comb filter is the unsung hero of the Analogue Systems Modules! It 
is great. While I would NOT recomend it to anyone as the only filter 
for a system - it has many uses. For example, I made a realy good Sax 
sound by producing a sine wave from a multimode filter (pre RS95) and 
overdriving it into the comb filter where it was shaped into a 
creditable sax sound.

The Vocal filter is basicaly three multimode filters in one module. It 
is both convenient and versatile. While it will not "Scream" at you 
(see above), it will produce some brillliant effects - one of which is 
the vocal chorus.

The EMS filter is very new to me and seems to be a good copy of the 
original. The way it works with the other AS modules will make it very 
different from actually owning a VCS3 though! The filter is "Fun" and 
"Quirky"! If it was a person - it would be an old hippy who liked to 
dream of the 70s! basically, it is a 24dB or 18 dB lowpass filter with 
a choice of response times. I must play with it some more and tell you 
how it functions. So far - I love it for its difference!

with them.

Sure, you are right ! But sometimes, when I make a patch, I would
have appreciate to have some other vca and adsr. A simple exemple that
need 3 adsr and 2 vca of them. Note that this is not a multi-layered
patch  :

I'm not sure to understand your flow chart. Is it like that :

vco -- vcf -- comb

Your very good to describe modules ! I think that I will buy one as soon
as possible.
