getting started

2004-06-18 by mralexbanks

Hi, I've just got myself an RS8000. I have a fair idea what I'm
doing but I think I'll need some help with the basics. Would
anyone know a good place to find out just how to get started on
this thing! I have a MIDI CV converter and that all works fine. Any
help would be most apreciated. Alex

www.clavia.se has some great modular tutorials. Also, the Arp 2600
users manual is a great place to start. I believe there is a PDF
version available at www.arp2600.co.uk

Enjoy!

Re: [analogue_systems] Blowing up my modular

2004-06-24 by Rob Hoffman

I think I might have blown up some modules. I plugged in my new RS240
Bode filter, and none of the lights came on. I pulled it out and
reseated the cable and the LED's lit up and it passes signal fine. The
problem is my two RS95 oscillators, and the VCA no longer generate or
pass signal. And on my VC-LFO, RS-80, the LED does not blink like my
Doepfer LFO's do.

Did I kill something ?

Sounds like it!

Is your rack the new model Bob just released? If so, there are separate
fuses on the DC (secondary) side of the transformer on the PSU itself and
the top and bottom rows of connectors on the PSU are fused separately.

Contact me offline and I'll give you some tips on this, but I suggest you
take it to qualified service tech.

It was the fuses. I replaced them all today and everything is back to
normal. Thank you so much for your help, saved me a trip to the tech.
