clanging!

2004-09-25 by hefnerwww

Can any body give me some hints on how to get bell like sounds out
of my AS. I've had some limited success and obviously I know that
the ring modulator is involved, but I'm sure there are other little
hints out there. My system is the basic AS integrator system 1 with
a clock divider and a scale generator added. - Cheers

FM. Try modulating the Frequency of OSC1 with another OSC.

Good Luck.

FM or ring can do the timbre for you. The envelope is also important. You
need no attach (duh!), a pretty rapid decay and a low level for the sustain
with a very long decay.

If you're recording this sound, play it back at half speed and your bell
will become huge.

Despite the duh! I'm still not sure if follow do you mean release
towards the end of the sentence, you must do right?

Thanks for all the help guys, you'd be suprised how much I didn't
know from all that stuff. I'm tempted to ask you the same question,
but this time about string like sounds.
