Re: PH Reason V4 and BCR - Help please

2008-05-30 by rpcfender

Sorry Jim, I thought there might be an Oxygen2 user out there.

The BCR works really well with Reason. You simply select it as a
controller and it will take over the BCR. I think it is the best
implementation of a control surface for the BCR . Much better than
Sonar's ACT
Reason will provide feedback when you swap from one device to another
or change the patches.

Only have Reason version 3 - but this might help

Turn on the BCR and the O2.
Either plug the O2 into the USB or the Midi Interface and get that
working.
Try using MidiOx (downloadable freeware) to make sure that you have a
connection.

For a USB connected BCR hold down "edit" & press "Store".
You're now in in global mode - twist the top left knob till the
display reads "U-1"
Press 'Exit'

For a Midi connected BCR hold down "edit" & press "Store".
 - twist the top left knob till the display reads "S-1"
Press 'Exit'

Reason Menu - Edit/Preferences
Select the page "Control Surfaces and Keyboards"
Add the BCR and if there isn't a O2 on offer just select the 'generic'
keyboard or something closer.
Then try pressing "auto detect Surfaces"
Hopefully this is all you'll need to do.

You don't need to. Reason will take over the BCR for you.
When setting things up, when you start Reason in the future and when
swapping from one device to another you'll see the BCR display light
up and 'spin round'
This is Reason setting up the controls
When it has finished (assuming a song has been loaded) click on the
'In' area in the track pane to select a device and then move the knobs
on the BCR to see what is knobs move on the Reason device.

Hope this helps
