I'm in the General tab page within the encoder edit dialog box and within the General tab page there are a few knob controls, and I'm finding that editing the value with the mouse isn't very accurate. I've watched Kip's getting started videos and in the second video he gives a tip that one can press control+enter and a dialog box will come up and you can type in the value via a text edit control. > > Well, I have the knob control selected (the dotted box appears around the control) but when I hit control+enter on my keyboard nothing happens. Any suggestions? Yes: press ALT+Enter (so not CTRL+Enter)! This is mentioned in BC Manager 1.5.1's manual, section 19; this section also mentions several other key combinations that allow you to change the value of a knob without using the mouse. By the way: the mouse is more accurate if you widen the circle of movement. However, I agree that these knobs with a range of 0-16383 are rather cumbersome for use with the mouse. I've recently had a (private) discussion with someone who brought up the same point. To summarize my answer: basically these knobs are not ideal, but replacing them with text edit boxes (with "spin" up/down arrows) wouldn't be ideal either, for several reasons: e.g. a text edit box doesn't show you the full range, and it only allows you to increment/decrement the value by one (apart from typing it of course). So I think the current setup is reasonable, combining the "best of both worlds" - provided you know how to access the dialog box, of course... Mark.
