Yes, in principle this is possible.
For a long time there's been a small Windows utility ("BC-Convert")
that converts B-Control syx files to text files and back. (BC Manager
also provides this facility, although you don't really need it in BC
Manager itself.) However, I don't know about such a utility for the Mac.
The main problem with BCL SysEx-to-text conversion is that each BCL
SysEx message is INDEXED, so the utility needs to be written
specifically for BCL SysEx-to-text conversion (and back, of course).
Even assuming that there is such a utility for the Mac, editing
presets in BCL text format is not for the faint-hearted. (In fact,
this was my main reason for writing BC Manager: to hide all BCL's
horrible syntactic details from the end user.)
