Just holding STORE should do nothing; that is: it should lead to the "completely normal" operating mode (showing "P-" and a preset number). So it does look as if there's something wrong with your button hardware (one of them might be stuck or so) - but I'm a bit confused right now WHICH one(s). In your original post you wrote that only your EDIT button didn't work, so that would indeed seem to be the culprit, but I have no idea if (let alone how) that could affect the operation of the STORE and EXIT buttons. Do your STORE, LEARN and EXIT buttons respond normally in other circumstances? (You might try some of the functions describe in BCMI section 21.) And do their LEDs work?) And what do you see when you start the BCR up normally? It SHOULD briefly show the version number (preferably "1.10") before going to "P-" plus a preset number. One other thing you might try: perform all these startup varieties with ALL cables (standard MIDI and USB) detached. Does that change anything? It's really a pity you can't run BC Manager from your Mac: BC Manager is capable of doing some diagnostics concerning connection mode, global settings etc. (E.g. it will recognize bootloader mode.) Can't you find a Windows computer and test your BCR + BC Manager there? - that may tell you a few things more about the nature and extent of the problem. Mark.
